Since I began this journey in 1997, with Jasmine, I have been involved with the CKC or Canadian Kennel Club since that time. I have shown in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia. I joined the BMDCC at that time as well. I have attended as many BMDCC Specialties (Bernese Mountain Dog of Canada) as well as those of the BMDCA (Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America) as I was able to. I am not yet a member of the BMDCA but keep turning up at all the Specialties! I do subscribe to the American publication "The Alpenhorn" and love it! Recently I have also joined the Edmonton Kennel Club and hope to help out with their organization in the future. The year 2010 will be very special one as this is the 100th year of the EKC!
Our dogs come from various places in the world. I have been to Belgium twice to bring home puppies. I have spent time in Germany, and in 2007, I went to the Swiss Jubilee show for the Bernese Mountain Dog, celebrating 100 years, held in Burgdorf, Switzerland. In the near future I hope to be going again to Europe to get another wonderful puppy to add to our group!
Our dogs live in the house with us and spend a great deal of time outisde investigating their world. Since the Bernese Mountain Dog is a working dog, you will find us practicing one of our many favorite passtimes here. We like to trial in Obedience, Drafting, Ralley-O, and Tracking. We also try to keep the dogs in tune with their showing skills.
